I am having so much fun giving blogger friends a total blog makeover. The most recent total makeover was for Kaylin at Enticing Healthy Eating.
Kaylin is awesome. She is so positive despite some tough life circumstances that she’s been through in the past couple of years. She has always been a big supporter of my food + fitness blog and I am so thankful I was able to work with her to make her food blog prettier.
Kaylin recently switched her blog from Weebly to WordPress and was using a theme I had never heard of. I knew I could help her create a more fresh and professional look as well as help her organize her recipes.
I really feel like I’m getting into a groove with these makeovers, but at the same time I’m finding that each one is totally different. Kaylin was the third blogger I’ve helped set up the Foodie Pro theme and recipe page, but the first one who had me do her branding, blog header and all that jazz.
Blog Makeover: Enticing Healthy Eating
Things to Consider:
– She’s a food blogger, so I wanted to incorporate some foodie item in her design.
– She likes pops of gold and green.
– She wanted her tagline in her header.
I always start out the process by browsing the blog I’m working on, reviewing the blog makeover form and figuring out a few color combination ideas. Pinterest is kind of amazing for coming up with color schemes. Without getting too nerdy with the details, I check out my Color Inspiration Board and send some links of options I think would work and make a color scheme from there.
We came up with a header pretty quickly. I sent over 3 designs with different font combinations and three more with different foodie utensil choices. Then all I had to do was arrange the text, add a bit of gold and green and boom. Her pretty header was done.
I brought the green and orange into the theme in the menu, links and buttons. Then I used the gold line in a couple of spots to finalize the styling. I am pretty sure I took longer than usual because I was drooling over all of her delicious recipes as I was setting up her recipe box.
Kaylin’s feedback:
“Amanda is fantastic to work with! [She] was great at communicating exactly what we were going to be doing with my website makeover, getting with me when I had any questions or needed clarification, and she understood my wants and needs for my site. Amanda has excellent pricing for her services and my blog looks 10 times better than it did before.” Check out Enticing Healthy Eating here.

I’m so excited to see where Kaylin’s blog goes from here. I know firsthand that getting a blog makeover is like getting a fresh new haircut—you feel sassy and ready to take on the world! (<-or is that just me?)

Tell me…
Do you have a food blog? How do you organize your recipes?
Ah! Excellent review, Amanda! You nailed my blog makeover. I was wondering if I could use a couple of images you have shown here when I do my own blog review of your ALB Designs business on my blog? I will credit them to you of course. 🙂 The whole blog post will be credit to you, haha! And thank you for the sweet words.
Of course, lady! You can always use stuff from my sites as long as you give credit (aside from copying full recipes or posts of course).
I had so much fun working with you!!
